Hello and welcome to PawCast the Podcast covering aspects of dog and everything associated with dogs. I am Saravanan Jayaraman your host for the show. I love to spread the little knowledge which I have. I will try to do the same here. This is episode 1. In this introductory podcast I will talk about the overview. The concept of having the dog for safety is slowly changing now it is it's not just a pet, but a friend, a child, an emotion a pride, companion to the mind and soul. The pandemic has changed many perspectives. The pandemic especially in Lockdown people started feeling lonely. Though the pandemic brought in lot of hardships, it also brought in many good things. People started to start new hobbies like gardening. Many wanted to bring in new family member - the dog. Dog in many houses become integral part of their life, but there is a flip side to it. Many abandoned the dogs as they were not able to maintain its expenses. Dog owners rather we call it "Dog Parent". Nowadays dog parent don't see dog as mere pet but as their kid. Pet parents take care of their pet as their own child now. Pandemic has put on accelerator button and India is fastest pet market in the world. India has estimated pet population of around 30 million that is 3 Crore pets out of which 80% of them are dog, that is approximately 24 million or 2 Crore 40 Lakhs dogs. There are a lot of scope in this segment and if you are looking to step into this fast paced pet Care industry it is the right time to venture, During the pandemic there are many fold increase in pet shops. When we talk in Rupee value as per the "India PetCare market Outlook 2021 26" report this market value is expected to rise to Rupees 7500 crore by 2026. The Global market is expected to become 250 billion Dollar or when converted to Indian Rupees at current exchange value of 78 Rupees per Dollar the value would be one Karab 95 Arab Rupees and it is huge. If you want to capitalize on this growing segment you can start one of these:
1) Open a pet product shop
2) Try your hand on customized products for dogs like leash with dog names dog dress with its photo or name in it. etc.
3) Pet grooming centre
3) Become a certified dog trainer
4) Become a certified dog breeder
5) Dog event management
6) Dog toys manufacturing or trading on it
7) Special foods exclusively for dogs
8) Bake cake for dogs.
9) Open a merchandise store that sells dog accessories like jackets bow tie sweatshirt leash etc.
